Summary Review
Part rebel, part clown, Calliope is an unusual nine-year-old. Her favorite set of pink fangs has been taken away by the teacher and Calliope is determined to get them back. To do so however, Calliope must win over the "witch" next door. In the process, Calliope gets entangled in a series of adventures. Haddad relates the wacky adventures of Calliope with much humor, although the story line seems choppy at times. The illustrations do reflect the humor in the text very effectively.
